Choosing the right drywall type is key to ensuring durability, fire resistance, moisture protection, and overall performance. At Swift, we offer and install a variety of drywall types tailored to your specific project needs:
Standard Drywall (White Board)
The most commonly used drywall for interior walls and ceilings in residential and commercial construction. Available in various thicknesses, typically 1/2" for walls and 5/8" for ceilings.
Moisture-Resistant Drywall (Green Board)
Treated with water-resistant materials, green board is ideal for high-humidity areas like bathrooms, kitchens, and basements — though not for direct water exposure.
Mold-Resistant Drywall (Purple Board)
Contains a fiberglass mesh to resist mold growth and moisture. Excellent for damp environments where added protection is needed.
Fire-Resistant Drywall (Type X)
Reinforced with special non-combustible fibers, this drywall is designed to slow fire spread. Often required by building codes in garages, furnace rooms, and multi-family buildings.
Soundproof Drywall
Thicker and denser than standard drywall, often made with multiple layers of gypsum and viscoelastic polymers. Used in home theaters, bedrooms, and between shared walls for noise control.
